To step into Burma is to step back in time for this land abounds with millennium-old ruins, thousands of stupas, gilded idols, and jewel-studded pagodas. This region of the world is what Marco Polo described as “strange and marvelous.” Why do we travel to Burma? Because we desire to proclaim the majesty of our God in this land where his providence has been so marvelously displayed. Throughout the ages explorers and evangelists have traversed this land, fulfilling our Lord’s commission to disciple the nations and expand His kingdom. Our team travels to this destination because it is necessary that we testify to the world and chronicle the many marvelous works done in this land. These accounts of God’s providence must be remembered by the coming generations: “Let them praise the name of the Lord, for his name alone is exalted; his majesty is above earth and heaven” (Psalm 148:13).
