Risk & Leadership
Leaders take risks. They make the hard calls. They embrace the challenges that others run from. They are willing to go where others will not in pursuit of a higher purpose. Of course, if risk-taking is an end-in-and-of- itself, it is both dangerous and foolish. But without prudent, informed, spirit-testing, faith-affirming risk-taking in a man’s life, he should not expect to see the life well-lived before his Creator. For this reason, every HJS expedition involves reasonable risk taking-challenges that take expedition members out of their comfort zones, draw upon their faith in God, and require them to push the limits of their capabilities.
